Fabric Choice
For the spring-summer season, we recommend making the high-waisted pants in a soft, medium-weight fabric such as a linen-viscose blend. This will ensure a beautiful structure at the waist and pleats while maintaining a graceful fluidity in movement. Other suggested fabrics include twill, velvet, lightweight denim, and more.
Fabrics used:
- Atelier Brunette Linen Viscose Off-White (available in other colors; note that ecru is quite transparent;))
- Mind The Maker Viscose Twill Solid Gold

The sewing pattern for the Joan pants is aimed at advanced sewists or those seeking a new sewing challenge to experience the satisfaction of sewing this wardrobe staple! The main challenges lie in constructing Italian pockets, the belt, and the zipper fly. With a good amount of patience and the explanatory video provided with the pattern, it should go smoothly.
Strongly Recommended Tip: Make a muslin before sewing your beautiful fabric. Pant pattern-making is the most complicated to standardize, and you may need to adjust the paper pattern to fit your body perfectly. Detailed articles on the blog will be published in the coming days to help you make modifications effectively.
